Beef mince price comparison: check the price per kilo

The quick answer: compare beef mince on the price per kilo, not the tray price. In Discount Trolley on 27 October 2026, the Woolworths Beef Mince 500g and the Coles regular beef mince 500g both cost 7 dollars 70, or 15 dollars 40 a kilo. Mince comes in trays of 500g, 800g, 1kg, 1.8kg and 2kg, and in regular, lean, extra lean, grass fed and organic. The tray price on its own says very little.

We make Discount Trolley, so read this with that in mind. The app shows the unit price under the shelf price in search and on each product page. On beef mince it reads per 100g, and you can tap it to switch to per kilo. To get the kilo price yourself, multiply the price per 100g by ten: 1 dollar 54 per 100g is 15 dollars 40 a kilo.
