Is a big pack of paper towels worth it for you?

A bigger pack often costs you less per sheet 📦 In Dete on 4 November 2026, Handee Ultra Paper Towel in a 6 pack of 60 sheet rolls at Woolworths was 6 dollars, or 1 dollar 67 per 100 sheets, and the Handee Ultra 3 pack with 180 sheets was 5 dollars, or 2 dollars 78 per 100 sheets. Twice the sheets, 1 dollar more.

Big packs only pay off if you have room to store them and you use them before they get squashed or damp. For more on judging big packs, read when a bulk buy grocery deal is worth it.

Double length or 3 ply: what are you paying for?

The price per 100 sheets counts sheets, not how big or thick they are. A double length roll has more sheets on it, and a 3 ply sheet is thicker than a 2 ply one. If one sheet of a thick towel does the job of two thin ones, the thick one can still work out cheaper in use.

So use the price per 100 sheets to compare towels of a similar kind, like 3 ply against 3 ply, or double length against double length. We cover ply and sheet size in more detail in our toilet paper price comparison, and the same idea holds for kitchen rolls.

• Compare 3 ply with 3 ply, so you compare like with like.
