What catalogues get wrong for your trolley

Those are real specials from that screen. They are not proof that Coles won your whole shop, and they are not the same as flipping three PDF catalogues hoping your staples appear.

Free still lets you open Today's deals, search current prices and read ordinary unit prices on product pages. That is the first honest cut after a catalogue binge: check the lines you actually buy.

Check the same list live, not three brochures

Build one shopping list with the brands and sizes you already buy. A savings badge can be real on the specials that landed while another line quietly fails the trip. ALDI (0) on that list means those lines did not land at ALDI for that trolley.

Half-price badges still sell hard. Unit price decides whether the badge is cheap. On a Pantene Pro-V Smooth & Sleek Shampoo for Frizzy Hair 375mL product page, Discount Trolley showed Woolworths at $10.00 and unit price $2.67 per 100mL. That ordinary unit price is Free. Use the same $ per 100mL habit when a catalogue special and a private-label bottle disagree on size.

When you need a live store check on the same product, that is Premium live cross-store comparison. On the Oral B Pro100 product page, Discount Trolley showed Coles at $8.00 was $56.00, unit price $8.00 per ea, and Compare Stores said not available at ALDI or Priceline. That is the same-SKU trap a catalogue never shows: a special looks unbeatable while ALDI simply does not stock that line.

Catalogue prices can differ in store, especially for fresh items. Confirm on the shelf before you buy.
