Dishwasher tablets price comparison: work out what one tablet costs

The quick answer: compare dishwasher tablets on the price of one tablet, not the price of the pack. On 23 October 2026, the Coles Ultra 100 pack worked out at 12 cents a tablet, and ALDI's own 45 pack and the Woolworths Shine 30 pack at about 13 cents. A Finish Ultimate Plus 14 pack at Coles cost nearly twelve times as much per tablet.

Packs run from 14 tablets to more than 100, so the shelf price on its own says very little. A pack that looks cheap can be the dearest way to buy a tablet, and a big pack with a scary shelf price can be the best value on the shelf.

We make Discount Trolley, so read this with that in mind. The app shows the unit price under the shelf price in search and on each product page. On dishwasher tablets it reads per 100 tablets, so a unit price of $12.00 per 100 tablets means 12 cents a tablet.

Which dishwasher tablets are cheapest per tablet?

Here is how dishwasher tablets lined up in Discount Trolley on 23 October 2026, lowest first. We show the price of one tablet. None of these packs were on special that day, apart from the ALDI Special Buy, which we mark.

The spread is wide. The lowest tablet we found cost 12 cents, and the dearest pack on this list cost more than a dollar forty a tablet.

2. ALDI's own 45 pack and Shine 30 pack at Woolworths: about 13 cents.
3. Coles Ultra 40 pack at Coles: about 14 cents.

5. Finish Power 80 pack at Coles: about 31 cents.
6. Finish Power 60 pack at Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse: about 33 cents.
7. Finish Quantum 90 pack at Coles: about 36 cents.
8. Finish 70 pack at ALDI, a Special Buy from 21 October: about 46 cents.
9. Finish Ultimate Plus 90 pack at Coles: about 52 cents.

Big pack or small pack: the 14 pack costs you

Pack size moves the price of one tablet a long way. At Coles on 23 October 2026, Finish Ultimate Plus cost about a dollar forty three a tablet in the 14 pack, about a dollar twenty six in the 46 pack, about a dollar nine in the 70 pack and about 52 cents in the 90 pack. The 14 pack cost more than two and a half times as much per tablet as the 90 pack.

The 90 pack was also lower on the shelf than the 70 pack that day, at 29 dollars less for 20 more tablets. The 90 pack price matched the Coles website when we checked it that morning. So do not assume the biggest box has the biggest price tag.

House brand or Finish: what the gap looks like

House brand tablets were the lowest we found. On 23 October 2026, Coles Ultra cost 12 cents a tablet in the 100 pack, ALDI's own 45 pack about 13 cents and Shine at Woolworths about 13 cents in the 30 pack. The Coles, ALDI and Woolworths prices matched each store's website when we checked them the same morning.

Finish Power cost about 31 cents a tablet in the Coles 80 pack, so about two and a half times the Coles Ultra price. The top Finish lines cost more again. Finish Ultimate 46 pack sat at the same shelf price at Coles and Woolworths, about a dollar seven a tablet.

Price is only half the story, because how clean your dishes come out matters too. If a cheaper tablet does the job in your dishwasher, that gap is worth having. If it does not, compare the brand you trust across stores and pack sizes instead.

Coles, Woolworths, ALDI or Chemist Warehouse?

On the same pack, Coles, Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse were close. On 23 October 2026, Finish Power 60 pack was $20.00 at Woolworths and $19.99 at Chemist Warehouse, and both prices matched the store websites that morning. Finish Ultimate 46 pack sat at the same shelf price at Coles and Woolworths.

Chemist Warehouse also had Finish Quantum 50 pack at about 50 cents a tablet, between the Coles Quantum 18 pack and 90 pack. You can pick your Chemist Warehouse store in Discount Trolley to see whether a nearby store has the pack in stock.

ALDI listed a Finish 70 pack as a Special Buy from Wednesday 21 October, at about 46 cents a tablet. Special Buys are there while stock lasts, so check your local ALDI before you make the trip. To weigh a second stop against the rest of your list, read should you split your grocery shop across two stores.

Dishwasher tablet specials: check the price history

The top Finish packs move around a lot at Coles and Woolworths. In Discount Trolley price history, Coles has dropped Finish Ultimate Plus 70 pack to half its shelf price about every second week since late July 2026, most recently in mid October. Woolworths did the same on Finish Ultimate 46 pack several times since mid August, most recently from 7 to 13 October. On 23 October 2026 both were back at their full shelf price.

At half its shelf price, the Coles Finish Ultimate Plus 70 pack works out at about 54 cents a tablet, close to the everyday price of the 90 pack. So paying full shelf price on those packs is rarely worth it. Wait a week if you can, or buy the big pack.
