Dog food price comparison Australia: price per 100g by bag size

Dog food price comparison: read the price per 100g on the bag

The quick answer: compare dog food on the price per 100g, not the bag price. On 2 November 2026, Julius Dry Dog Food Beef 8kg at ALDI cost 17 dollars 99, or 22 cents per 100g, which is about 2 dollars 25 a kilo. At Woolworths, Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food with Real Chicken 8kg was 20 dollars on special, or 25 cents. At Coles, Supercoat Adult With Chicken Dry Dog Food 2.8kg was 10 dollars 80 on special in Discount Trolley, or 39 cents.

Bag size matters too. At Woolworths, Pedigree Adult 1 to 7 Years Small Breed Dry Dog Food with Real Chicken 2.5kg was 15 dollars, or 60 cents per 100g, more than twice the 8kg bag on special.

We make Discount Trolley, so read this with that in mind. The app shows the unit price under the shelf price in search and on each product page. On dog food it reads per 100g.

• Compare the price per 100g, not the bag price.
• Julius Dry Dog Food Beef 8kg at ALDI: 22 cents per 100g.
• Pedigree 8kg with Real Chicken at Woolworths on special: 25 cents.

Which dry dog food cost least per 100g?
